Since Emma, Lesley and I went with Adrian and Thomas, the trip wasn't as fun. :D jks jks. At first when I heard we were going to climb mountains and go through caves, honestly I was quite excited. But then afterwards, I was just quite disappointed.... :(
The trip was overall, quite fun!

Character of Mui Wo
Mui Wo is a rural town on the eastern coast of Lantau Island in Hong Kong. The main beach in Mui Wo is known as Silver Mine Bay Beach.
History
The history of Mui Wo dates back to the last days of the Southern Song Dynasty. Fleeing south from the invading Mongols, in 1277 the imperial court sought refuge in Silvermine Bay (at that time known as Mei Yu). In March 1278, whilst attempting a further escape from the Mongols, the penultimate Song Dynasty Emperor Duanzong fell from a boat and almost drowned. After his rescue, he became ill and died a few months later at Mui Wo. Duanzong's successor, Emperor Huizong of Song was enthroned at Mui Wo on May 10, 1278.
Mui Wo is located on Silvermine Bay, so named for the silver mines that were once worked along the Silver River which flows through the village. The nearby Silvermine Cave was mined for silver during the second half of the 19th century. It has since been sealed off for safety.
Prior to the Airport Core Programme and the subsequent development of Tung Chung and North Lantau into a new town, Mui Wo was the principal point for day-trippers setting out to explore Lantau Island. Today, it is still the principal way of reaching South Lantau - from the beaches in Cheung Sha to the fishing village of Tai O and the Tian Tan Buddha. With the opening of Ngong Ping 360 and the new, smoother Tung Chung Road, this may change.
The plan for Christian Zheng Sheng Collage, a school helping students overcome drug problems, to move to a vacant campus in Mui Wo has led to opposition and widespread discussion in 2009.
Sights
Nearby attractions include Silver Mine Bay Beach, Silver Mine Waterfall and a temple dedicated to Man Mo, originally built during the reign of Wanli, emperor of the Ming Dynasty (1573-1620).
Transportation
Mui Wo is connected by ferry to Central (Central ferry pier number 6). Other ferry services link Mui Wo to Discovery Bay, Peng Chau, Chi Ma Wan and Cheung Chau.
Buses operate from Mui Wo to other places on Lantau, including Tung Chung (3M) and thus Hong Kong Airport (A35) and the rail network. The major road South Lantau Road begins with Mui Wo and ends in Shek Pik, with Tung Chung Road branching from Cheung Sha to Tung Chung.
Numerous hiking trails lead from Mui Wo to other parts of the island. The long hiking trail on the island, Lantau Trail, starts from Mui Wo. A much-frequented route leads north-east from Mui Wo to Discovery Bay via a pagoda, the Trappist Haven Monastery, and then either up the mountain via the Discovery Bay golf course of by the ocean via Nim Shue Wan.

4. Development Project 2 (Water Sports)
We will have water sports on the silver-mine bay beach in the ocean, and will have different types of water sports like: canoeing, kayak, sailing, snorkeling and much much more. It's different from other places because you will have much more variety of water sports for a inexpensive price and you can learn how to do different water sports, while looking at the unique and beautiful scenery of Mui Wo where you can't see any where else on the ocean of Mui Wo. You can stay overnight in the silver-mine bay hotel so you can have a rest after all of the exercise and take a nice shower. We will form a partnership with the silver-mine bay hotel to try and get cheaper prices/discounts on different things for the customers.
Personal priorities of ideas - Emma
Ideas for Sustainability
My priorities may differ from yours
- Rural farming community (overnight stays of picking vegetables, fruits or, just gardening)
- Gastro tour with hotel stay (ties in with government development of cooked market)
- Watersports
- School (abandoned)
- (tied) Heritage hotel and Olympic trail (sports) [I think this has a limited market]
Mission Statement
Sustainable is development that allows us to develop and live for ourselves without comprising future generations in terms of social, environmental and economic needs.
Sustainable Development Definition
Definition of SD - Emma
" What is Sustainable Development? The right to development implies the right to improvement and advancement of economic, social, cultural and political conditions. Improvement of global quality of life means the implementation of change that ensures every person a life of dignity; or life in a society that respects and helps realize all human rights. These changes must include the eradication and alleviation of widespread conditions of poverty, unemployment, and inequitable social conditions. Sustainable development ensures the well-being of the human person by integrating social development, economic development, and environmental conservation and protection. "

I know it's three sentences but the third sentence I think is necessary. Some common ideas that occur in the definitions so far include topics such as environmental conservation, human needs (social), development, meets the needs etc.

Sustainable Development
Sustainable development (SD) refers to a mode of human development in which resource use aims to meet human needs while preserving the environment so that these needs can be met not only in the present, but also for generations to come. The term 'sustainable development' was used by the Brundtland Commission which coined what has become the most often-quoted definition of sustainable development: "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.".

Waterfalls
First of all, what is a waterfall?
A waterfall is a place where water flows over a vertical drop in the course of a stream or river. Waterfalls also occur where meltwater drops over the edge of a tabular iceberg or ice shelf.
How are waterfalls formed?
Waterfalls are commonly formed when a river is young. At these times the channel is often narrow and deep. When the river courses over resistant bedrock, erosion happens slowly, while downstream the erosion occurs more rapidly. As the watercourse increases its velocity at the edge of the waterfall, it plucks material from the riverbed. Often over time, the waterfall will recede back to form a canyon or gorge downstream as it recedes upstream, and it will carve deeper into the ridge above it. The rate of retreat for a waterfall can be as high as one and half meters per year. Often, the rock stratum just below the more resistant shelf will be of a softer type, meaning that undercutting due to splashback will occur here to form a shallow cave-like formation known as a rock shelter under and behind the waterfall. Eventually, the outcropping, more resistant cap rock will collapse under pressure to add blocks of rock to the base of the waterfall. These blocks of rock are then broken down into smaller boulders by attrition as they collide with each other, and they also erode the base of the waterfall by abrasion, creating a deep plunge pool or gorge.Streams become wider and shallower just above waterfalls due to flowing over the rock shelf, and there is usually a deep area just below the waterfall because of the kinetic energy of the water hitting the bottom. Waterfalls normally form in a rocky area due to erosion. After a long period of being fully formed, the water falling off the ledge will retreat, causing a horizontal pit parallel to the waterfall wall. Eventually, as the pit grows deeper, the waterfall collapses to be replaced by a steeply sloping stretch of river bed.
